Being a big brother for over a week now has made Evan feel he is big and strong enough to take care of his "Dede". He calls his baby brother "Dede", it is a common nick name for baby, or younger sibling here.
Whenever we took his Dede a bath, Evan would say, "Let me do it mommy, I can bath him", or "I can carry him", "Let me dry him", "Let me comb his hair", etc. Sometimes he doesn't understand why his baby brother needs to sleep while he wants to play with him.
We were advised to involve him in taking care the baby so, as the first-born, Evan would not feel being left behind as we're busy with the baby. However, there are things need to be reminded to him. The most important lesson I think is "be gentle to Dede!" As an excited big brother sometimes he got a bit rough and forgot that his Dede is not a toy that he can play with all the time.
Excited to have a baby brother
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day :)
