What Makes Me Happy?

It's been awhile since the last time I got an award. Honestly, I was beginning to think that people got fed up with the way I handled awards/tags so they deleted me from their award receiver list. But guess what? I was wrong, somebody still loves me!

Thank you mommy Tetcha of Pensive Thoughts for the Happiness Award!

Now I have to list 10 things that make me happy:
  • Well for a start, receiving this award already made me happy!
  •  Seeing my kids grow up
  • Knowing that they're in good health
  • Spending time with them
  • Hearing them singing and laughing
  • Receiving good reports from my son's teacher
  • Having a raise from the office
  • A nice getaway
  • Visiting new places
  • Last but not least, I'll be happy if all my visitors are real, not ghost droppers! LOL

So what things that make you happy? Share them with us :)
Happy Friday everyone!

On This First Blogoversary...

First of all, "Happy Blogoversary to me!" (Thanks to the Blogoversary button for reminding it.) It's been a great year since the first post of this blog. We were rearranging our family photos, Evan's photos to be exact, when the idea of making a blog came up. We had taken so many pictures to capture the important moments of Evan, but after a period of time we often forgot a little story behind those pictures. Writing those stories on a blog seemed like a good idea, so we started this blog.

This blog last year

Then the blog started to grow, we got visitors from all over the world (97 countries so far). People started to say hello and leave comments. Also Google came back with PR2 on April after took away our PR1 on December without saying anything (where's your manners Mr. G!). Alexa rank raise to 83,399 thanks to Entrecard and Adgitize. I don't really care about PR nor AR (anymore), but it still feels good to see them growing :)

This blog now

I think the biggest challenge in maintaining this blog is to keep focus on its original purpose: to share a glimpse of Evan's life. Many times I was tempted to post about other thing but then it didn't seem right to me, so we're back focusing on our little boy, who's within three months going to be a big brother (do I need to change the blog's title?), and will keep it that way.

On this first anniversary, let me share this Spread the Love award I got from Tetcha of Pensive Thoughts. Thanks for the award Tetcha, it fits the event.

Now I'm presenting this award to all of you, let's spread the love thru our blog always! Also happy Blogoversary to the following blogs who also celebrating it today:
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

How Do I Love My Husband tagged by Maria of Maria Went To Chicago. Thanks Maria, you made such a sweet post about it.

My husband and I have known each other since we were still in high school. There were several on and off periods in our relationship until we finally took our vow. I'll save the details for the Propose to Marry tag, which will be posted later this weekend. Sorry for another delay dear, I haven't found the pictures needed for the tag yet.

We got married because we know that we love each other and we believe God has plan for both of us. How do I love him?
  • I love the way he loves me
  • I love the way he supports me in all situation
  • I love his attentiveness to my family
  • I love him for being honest and faithful
  • In short I love him for what he was then, is now and will always

I've seen many bloggers have done this tag, so I'll leave the tag open for those who haven't made this tag.

***

Maria also tagged me with Sporty Tag. Thanks again Maria, it's a very interesting tag too :)
Rules:
1. Just state what kind of sports car will you buy if you have a ton of money at the moment.
2. Don't spoil the fun guys, please get back to me if you are done posting and leave a comment stating the name and the kind of vehicle.
3. If you could link me to the post, it would be awesome!

If I had a ton of money (how much exactly is it btw?) I would certainly consider to buy this beautiful Ferrari 430 Scuderia. I skip the performance details because that's not really matters here. With the traffic and road condition in Jakarta, I would never be able to achieve even its half speed :(. Anyway, I like this particular car for it's in my fave color - dark purple :). Imagine all the attention and the jealous look I would get if I were in that car, hmm...

Nevertheless, this type of Ferrari has been reviewed as the third-quickest Ferrari road car ever made. So it's not that bad, is it? Another reviewer said "While easy enough to drive without killing yourself, the 2008 Ferrari 430 Scuderia is a phenomenal driving machine ideal for those with a track and/or vacant mountain road at their ready disposal. Saturn-rocket acceleration, sublime handling, surprisingly easy to drive, has only slightly fewer performance toys than Lewis Hamilton." Thank God for that coz I never drive a Ferrari, so it's good to know that the car is easy to drive. As for the price, it's not that expensive, I would only need to spend $200,000 out of my dream money (off course) to have one.

Can I continue to another car? It's not a sport car though, it's a limousine ;=). If I still had money left after buying that Ferrari, I would buy a limo, along with the driver, lol. If you live or ever been in Jakarta, having such a convenient car with a skilled driver is a must! The traffic is crazy here. And if I could make my limo escorted by a police squad, my life would be a lot easier!

"At your service Madam"

Ok, I have to stop here before I get carried away. Let's back to the topic, shall we? What's your dream sport car? Let's share it to me :)

Life Is Grand tagged by Adin's baby Harley of Mommy's Gossip Corner and Maria's lovely daughter Solaris of Maria Went to Chicago. This one is special because both baby Harley and Solaris tagged Evan, and Evan says, "Yay, thank you my friends!"

Rule: List 5 reasons why I think that Life Is Grand and then pass it on to 5 people.
  • 1. My Life is Grand because I'm happy knowing that God bless me
  • 2. My Life is Grand because God bless my mom and dad
  • 3. My Life is Grand because God bless people I love
  • 4. My Life is Grand because God bless my pet
  • 5. My Life is Grand because God bless my country
Note: those are summarized from his morning prayer. Every morning he will pray like this "Lord Jesus thank you for blessing me, my mama, my daddy, Oma... and so on". He will mention many names including grandparents, uncles, aunties, his nanny, our maid, teachers, and sometimes his pet. At the end of the prayer he will say "Bless our country too God, Amen."

Evan says he passes this tag to all fellow kiddies :)

Adin also tagged me with Valentine Linky Love for Valentine's Day; unfortunately, I was out of town that time and haven't come back until last week so I didn't have a chance to post it. I'm sorry I miss it Adin, it's a perfect tag for the season and I love the message in it. Thank you again for tagging me.

Lovely Blog Award from Enchie of Sweet Nothings. Thank you mommy what a perfect award for the season :)

Lovely Blog AwardRules:
1. Nominate another 10 bloggers that you really love to visit their blog.
2. Put the logo in your blog and link to the person who gave you the award.

I'm sure all of you have some favorites blogs too, so I will leave this award open so any of you can share about your favorites blogs to us. As for me, these are some of the blogs I really love to visit:
As I See It, BeeAmazing, Sweet Nothings, Fickleminded, Too Little Time To Blog, Learn From Blogging Info, Learn From Blogging Info.
I have to admit, I don't visit all those blogs on daily basis, some of them I just secretly follow thru my Google Reader, because sometimes I don't really have time to do that. However, when I do read them, it certainly adds more colors to my day. It makes me smile, laugh, think, learn, sometimes cry, etc. Now it's your turn to share your fave blogs :)

***

Best Mom Award from Enchie and Chris of The Mommy Journey. Two lovely ladies nominated me as Best Mom, wow thank you mommies, I'm truthfully honored. And I want everybody knows that I 100% agree with whomever nominated these lovely moms because they are indeed the best moms :)

Best Mom AwardRules:
1. Show the award logo in your post.
2. Pick a picture you have with your kiddo/s.
3. Post should include your best experience as a Mom.
4. Nominate other blogger moms out there that you consider the best mom, like yourself.

My best experience as a mom will include having my baby inside my tummy and delivering him. Hearing his first cry, his first laugh, his first giggle, his first words. Seeing his first smile, his first crawl, his first steps, his first fall from trying to walk, his first run. Hearing his kiddies songs or his self-made song, his yell, his arguments, his innocent questions. Seeing him go to school, doing his homework...

I can truly make a very long list about it. In short, being with my son is my best experience as a mom! Everything you read about my boy in this blog is just a glimpse of them.

Usually I will leave the award open, but this time I want to specifically present this award to Maria. I still remember your post here dear, I really like that and it certainly confirm that you deserve this award :)

Thank you for taking time to read this long post. I hope I didn't make too many typos. Have a great day!

So Many Awards and Tags

This is going to be a very long post because I owe so many awards and tags and will post all of them here. But before I start, I want to thank Elizabeth, Enchie, Maria, Pushhyarag2000 and Tetcha for passing these awards/tags to me. Please excuse the long delay, I believe some of you have given the award/tag since two weeks ago.

Ok let's start with the awards first...

Honest Scrap Awards from Elizabeth of All About Elizabeth

Honest Scrap Award Rules:
When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real.

Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends. Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog.” Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!

10 honest things about me:
  1. I'm bad in handling awards/tags. That's the first honest thing I want all of you to know. It doesn't mean I don't appreciate people who awarded or tagged me. I just have a bad habit in delaying or breaking the award/tag's rules :)
  2. My favorite color is purple. If you wonder why that color doesn't show up here, that's because my son loves blue.
  3. I used to be a picky eater (much better now) and I'm married to a picky eater. As a result we have a super picky eater son.
  4. I don't like spending the whole weekends/holidays at home. I will make plan to go out with my family.
  5. I like to plan ahead about anything even for little things. For example I have to know which restaurant we're heading before we go out to eat. I don't like words like "we'll see when we get there"!
  6. Before I have kid, I couldn't stand any mess in the house. Every room had to be clean and tidy. Everything had to be in place where it should be and I would snap on anyone who dared to remove them without my permission. But motherly love conquers all!
  7. I'm considered myself as a perfectionist at work (not when I'm blogging). I will check and recheck every little detail and make sure every task, either mine or others, is neatly and thoroughly done.
  8. I can't hide my emotions even when I try to. People will easily see me happy, sad or upset. There are times when I do purposely show others that I'm upset about something.
  9. I use Evan's Mom as my profile name because I want to be identified as a mother. It helps me to remember to think twice before saying anything either, sometimes I fail though. Anyway, my real name is Eloni and my friends call me El. All of you can use any of those three names to call me :)
  10. In real life I can talk about law, airplane (the real one not the toy!), business, gadgets, computer hardwares or softwares, cars, etc. However, I will not do that here since I'm focusing myself as a mom who blogs about her kid. Sadly, I read too many bloggers misjudge, even scorn on mom/SAHM/WAHM blogs, but I don't care! I believe everybody has the right to choose their own topics to blog, whether it's about family, cats, dogs, foods, religions, coupons, beads, etc.
That's it my 10 honest things, now it's time for you to share yours.

The Triple Awards from Tetcha of Pensive Thoughts

The rules for this award are:
1. Put the logo on your blog or post.
2. Nominate 10 blogs which show great Attitude and/or Gratitude (If you don't have 10, it doesn't really matter.)
3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.
4. Let them know they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to this post and to the person from whom you received your award.

I think all of you deserve this award since you already show a great attitude by reading my post.

Now the Tags...

Birthday Wish List tagged by Enchie of Sweet Nothings

Rules Of The Tag:
1. Make a list of what you want on your birthday
2. The list should be 10 numbers
3. Post the image of this award in your posting
4. Give it to 10 friends of yours.

This one is unique because Enchie was tagging my son, so last Sunday I asked Evan what he wanted for his 4th birthday. His answers were actually vary from time to time throughout the day, but I can summarize them into this list:
  1. A Batman or Superman toy that can fly (I have no idea what they looks like, and thank God I still have 8 months to find out)
  2. A big version of Gordon (in case you don't know, Gordon is a friend of Thomas the Tank Engine. We've been looking for it since Christmas but could only find a small one)
  3. A birthday cake with Batman character on it (I don't know why he mentioned about Batman twice)
  4. No birthday party (Hmm.. interesting, but I think I will prepare a surprise party for him anyway)
This is actually fun and I probably will ask him again later to see if the list can grow or maybe he will change his mind on certain things. I think all of you should try this with your kids!

Six Weird Things About Me tagged by Maria of Maria Went to Chicago
RULES: People who get tagged need to write a blog post of 6 weird things about them as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 or more people you know to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says "you are tagged" in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

Now I'm not sure whether these are weird or not, so I just list them here then all of you can tell me which one is weird according to you :)
  1. I only watch TV shows on weekends. For some people TV is something they just "can't live without", but as you see I'm still alive!
  2. I prefer to talk about gadgets or computers over jewelery or celebrity gossips.
  3. I only used one third of my maternity leave. My family was surprise and not fully supportive when I started going to the office 3 weeks after delivery.
  4. I don't have any favorite actors/books/movies. I do watch movies but don't have any particular idol.
  5. I'm a Nokia mania. For the last 8 years I've used 28 types of Nokia cellphones. In case you're wondering, NO I don't own Nokia shop nor get discounts from them :(
  6. Some people oftenly fail to say my name for the first time. Names like Eleni, Elani or Leoni seems more familiar to them rather than Eloni, the correct one.
Now, I'm sure all of you have weird things to share too, so do share them to us.

What Word Are You? invited to play by Pushhyarag2000 of Evolve.Ever
I accepted the invitation. It's quite easy to be done. All I had to do was answer these 5 questions and copy the result here. This is the result.

Your Word is "Fearless"
You see life as your one chance to experience everything, and you just go for it!

You believe the biggest risk is being afraid and missing out on something amazing.

Sometimes your fearlessness means you're daring. You enjoy risky activities.

And sometimes your fearlessness means you're courageous. You're brave enough to do the right thing, even when it's scary.

I saw Pushhyarag2000 also did the How Addicted to Blogging Are You? quiz, and I decided to try that one too. Here's the result:

45%How Addicted to Blogging Are You?

Curious? Let's play along then and tell me your result.

***

That's it my longest post ever! (Hmm.. I think I've said that before when posting my previous batch of awards) I hope I don't make too many mistakes.
Thanks again for the awards and tags :)

Last week this blog was awarded with two awards, so I'm going to start this week by showing them off my gratitude to the persons from whom I received these awards.

The first award was Butterfly Award for the coolest blog I ever know.
Thank you Mova Nugraha of Mova Nugraha Indonesia Catholic Blogger, for giving me this award. Mova is one of my top droppers; if you check his blog you will see he also have  several other blogs that mainly focusing about his city Solo.
The rules of this award are:
* Put the logo anywhere in your page or post.
* Add a link to the person who awarded it to you.
* Link 10 other blogger of whom you want to give this award to.

I know I have to pass this award to 10 other cool blogs, but I've found so many cool blogs out there so I'm not going to break the rules here. As people say "behind every cool blog there's a cool blogger" (what? you never heard that before? well, aren't you glad you just heard that from me), and the coolest blogger I've ever known is YOU. Yes you! The fact that you take time to read my blog that makes you the coolest blogger to me. So don't be shy, just grab the award because you deserve it and share it to other cool blogs according to your own definition. Should your blog already been awarded, just consider it as a reminder that you're the coolest blogger!

The Second award is the Noblesse Oblige Award
Thank you Enchie of Sweet Nothings for presenting me this award. Enchie just launched her own cooking blog recently (congrats busy mom) and I urge all of you to check that out too. Also thank you Chris of The Mommy Journey who gave this award just when I started writing this post (good timing Chris, I like it). If you enjoy your precious moments as a mom, you may consider to join the Mommy Moments at Chris' blog like I do.  Do you see the post below? It just became my most commented post! I guess everybody loves baby pictures :)

"The idea of making this blog came from my brother when he was rearranging our family photos. We had taken so many pictures to capture the important moments of Evan, but after a period of time we often forgot a little details behind those pictures. Writing them in a blog seemed like a good idea. So this blog was built from a family pictures collection and now become a place to meet new friends like you. If you see my blog tittle, EC card, About this Blog description, or the whole set of this blog, you will get the general idea what this blog is all about and I've been trying my best to be consistent with it."

Now I'm going to present this award to Mova Nugraha. As I mentioned before he has several blogs about Solo and I think his effort to promote his own city is worth to be awarded. So take the award Mova and continue your good deed!

As to finish the title above, "When someone recognize your blog... it's worth the longest post you've ever made" lol. Enjoy your day everybody.

Two Things I Want To Say

First of all, I want to thank you ALL EC members who have visited and dropped your cards here. It's a bit late because we just came back from our vacation on Saturday, and did not have much time to post until today. I have found many interesting sites that I like to visit ever since I joined EC last month. Today, I started to bookmark them and ended up with 60+ blogs added to my list. Oops how will I manage my time to read and drop on them all? Well, I'll try my best to do that :)

As for the following blogs:
Man In The Moon - 23 drops
A Family Man - 21 drops
Ruth's Creations - 20 drops
Mumsy - 19 drops
Paperkraft.net - 18  drops
Grandmother Wren - 17 drops

thank you for becoming my Top 10 Droppers for December 2008, greatly appreciate what you did  guys.

Secondly, in case you haven't noticed, I'm cleaning-up my blog! Yes it was fun to have Christmas decorations all over the blog but the holiday is over now and it's time to clean it up. Besides, they greatly slowed down my page loading time, I myself some times became impatient to load my own blog, lol. I haven't finished working on it yet, still need to change the header and decide what to do with the now empty sidebars, but I'll try not to put heavy stuff on it. So there will be some more changes in the following days. Do you feel it's faster to load my blog now? I hope so.
